Kings Island

Well , got Hunter up at 8:30am ( poor little man don’t like my hours) so we could get something to eat before we hit the park.  Packed the car, since we were switching hotels, and off we go.20160708_093449

Got parked, and it was 20 minutes till park opened.  We got our fast pass and we can’t wait.  I think we hit 6 coasters and then, RAIN, bummer.  I was really enjoying the look on Hunters face!!!

Then after the rain, I have to go to my favorite part of the park!!!

WHAT,  yes, pictures of ME!!!!

Took in some other rides, one being the train ride around the park, someone else was a little bored. 💤

Getting on into the evening, decided to see the water ride.  Hunter didn’t want to get his TECHNOLOGY wet.  No problem, we leave it inbox by the employees.  Situation solved!!! I was the one that got the wettest, loved it.  Hunter has a taste for wings, he orders 12 ‘crazy boy’s wings. They weren’t that crazy hot.  Now I have to hit the 2 coasters that I wanted to do at night!!!  Yep, your guessing right…..his stomach is not sure, but I am.  We go, he makes it with maybe just a little rumbling.  Hahaha, great gramma, right!  Watch the fireworks and back to our hotel.

Onwards to Cincinnati

The drive was uneventful….but while Hunter napped  (he does this alot), I decided to treat myself even though I don’t partake in whiskeys personally.  He never even knew were off the highway till I parked.  Looked what caught my eye !!

After the tour and tastes, on towards Cincinnati.  Parked along riverfront and walked around. Coolest waterfront ever!!! So many things to see and do there for everyone. Water activities and swings, food carts….loved it. We walked halfway over the Ohio river to take pics.

We  went to dinner at Blue Ash Chili , Guy Fieri featured this restaurant!!!  We are checked into the hotel and we are letting each other gag from the finest attributes of our delicious food!!!  😷

Mammoth cave

We were up bright and early this morning, got our boots on, and went to the Windmill restaurant for breakfast ! Yum Yum!  After that we continued on to the Mammoth Cave visitor center. We registered, sign waivers, and waited for our tour to begin . Hunter now realizes that he doesn’t have socks that are tall enough to cover his ankles which are now rubbing.  Off to the gift shop we go. These are the socks!!!

20160706_091810    now we go out to the dorms and gear up. Only pic in our jumpsuit coveralls becuz I didn’t take phone. Smart , right!!20160706_095018.  Was way cool but I don’t think he will be game for the 6.5 wild cave tour , this intro tour was 3.5 and enough fun for him.  We went hiking around after and then off to Bardstown.20160706_133935 20160706_131732 20160706_133935 20160706_141731

As we got inthe car and pulled out of the parking lot to drive out , the heavens opened up . We got on I 65 going north and the rain was ridiculous!!! we actually were able to see the line of rain and then we drove into it. So heavy we were hydroplaning slightly. Everybody was slowing down and we made it through. It was only an hour and a half drive to Bardstown. We are staying at the old County Jail which is been turned into Jailers Inn bed-and-breakfast . I told Hunter we were going for a tour since it’s one of the oldest jails in Kentucky . She  asked me would he mind being put in the  drunk tank first , I whispered, of course not!   After he walks in, SLAM , it was loud, I laughed, he turned around quick! We were then shown to our jail cell where we will be spending the night .  Not all the comforts of home, but it’s a cell and I knew what I was signing up for. 20160706_170217 20160706_170345 20160706_171013 20160706_171019

Hunter and I. , road trip!🚗

Well, we hit the road @ 5:30am. Too early, but road construction is always guess work. From home to Indianapolis, roads sucked!!!! We had breakfast near Louisville at a Waffle House. Found our destination , GO APE , and we were about an hour early. So we registered, and then they let us walk the trails and we were able to see some of the ziplines.

Hunter was a real trooper, and let me say it took alot out of you. Those obstacle course zillions were TOUGH.💪 🙈

Got a couple good pics . We were out there by ourselves basically for 2 hours. Sweat and muscle, but that was the best!!!

On to Cave City, checked in at the Red Roof Inn.  Pool is broke, hotel is a joke. 😨.  We went to look around and did the Alpine slide. Hunter was say I g it looks like death, ME: don’t even worry about the lead base paint then !!!

Then after a couple trips down we went to my favorite, Windmill restaurant!!  All homemade, all you can eat buffet,  and I had to pay the ridiculous price of $7.75. !!! The insanity.

Departure

On our morning rush! Up at 7am, bus arrives at 8:30, and off to the airport! Wonderful night was had as our final dinner and outing. Great time with great people! Cannot wait to get home though! See everyone soon!!! Adios

On the flight midair and nothing to do, SO update I will! Since yesterday we had time to hit the market in Antigua, I hit it hard!💰💲. My goal was to get textiles this year, SUCCESS !!!!!

Here is what I managed to get….
A beautiful tablerunner
4 pillow cover
Quilt
From chocolate factory: honey with cocoa nibs, cocoa/guava jelly
Large shoulder bag
5bags of coffee in their own handmade bag

All these items are made by women in the neighborhood villages by hand. Total quality and also a great piece of art and design. Wait till you see the quilt!! Had a crate for my carryon and items purchased….and still had to put my coffee order in someone else’s crate!!! Bad Pam. Hahaha

Sure is seeming like a long time, oh well.

Check through customs, gathered all our crates ( a small feat because there was another FAITH IN PRACTICE medical mission in Antigua also on our flight with black crates ) rechecked them and back thru security again. Since we have a long layover, went to eat BBQ!!! Yummy. Then in my normal fashion, I rode the tram from terminal E to terminal A, and back again!!! FUN

5, surgery

Well another hot ass day here!   We had air conditioning on in OR and preoperative area and lost electric. We get ours back but preoperative area cannot use theirs anymore.  Middle of surgery and blackness, closure by cellphone flashlight!!!!  That’s a first! Hospital turns WIFI during storms.  Not much to post today.

Well, just finished 6 hernias, 3with mesh repairs.   Hot and sweaty, but just want to check in.  Won’t get pics for days. Not able to take during the day. Only seem to catch WIFI at the hospital, even though it says I’m connected at the hotel, unable to use. 😟   Here’s one I took last night at sunset.  Those a peacocks in the trees.  One male with the tail and the rest females.
